Summer Beauty Fix? Laser Hair Removal

Since its introduction in 1995, laser hair removal has come a long way. It’s now one of the most popular medical cosmetic procedures, with more than 150,000 treatments performed in Canada last year.

It’s not hard to understand why the laser method has been so well-received. The procedure is fast, easy, and quickly clears large body areas that would otherwise require repeated shaving, painful waxing or messy usage of chemical depilatories.

During laser treatment, light energy is delivered to the targeted area and absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles. This absorbed energy creates a short burst of heat, which damages the germative cells that make the hair grow. With repeated damage, these cells lose their ability to form hair and are eventually removed from the body. Because hair tends to re-grow finer and thinner in treated areas, if it grows back at all, Health Canada allows the process to be described as permanent hair reduction.

The procedure lasts anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or more, depending on the size of the area being treated. A series of several treatments is usually required, since the laser only treats hairs that are actively growing but does not address those that are dormant or resting.

Because it’s so fast and effective, many men now prefer laser to other hair removal methods like waxing and plucking. According to a recent survey from Cargo Magazine of 500 men in North America, 54% remove hair on their back, 45% trim chest hair and more than 70% remove hair around their eyebrows, ears or neck. Of those, one in five said they prefer laser hair removal.

LaserSheer Advanced Skin Rejuvenation & Laser Centre uses the state-of-the-art LightSheer diode laser, a device that provides superior results with extremely high patient satisfaction.

Through July 31, 2010, laser hair removal on the bikini area or underarms is just $199!

Botox Restores Your Youthful Look

Wrinkling near the eyes and in the forehead is one of the earliest signs of aging. Even relatively young people can develop lines in these areas as a result of stress or excess sun exposure, making them look older than they actually are.

Fortunately, this problem is one of the easiest to correct. Approved by Health Canada for the treatment of lines and wrinkles, Botox® can quickly restore a natural, youthful look to the face.

Injection with Botox® takes about 15 minutes. Shortly thereafter, Botox® begins blocking nerve transmission to specific muscles, putting those muscles to rest for the next few months. That causes wrinkles in the affected muscles to virtually disappear. The full effects of Botox® appear within 2 to 10 days after injection and results last from 3 to 4 months.

One of the greatest benefits of Botox® is no downtime. That means you can go back to your normal routine immediately.

Laser Sheer Has A New WordPress Website!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Laser Sheer™ West Edmonton Mall
Has A New Website!
Why Is That News? It’s State-of-the-art
and Google Loves it!

(Edmonton, Alberta Canada – Aug 1, 2010)  Today, www.LaserSheer.ca  went live with a WordPress based website. Up to now, www.Lasersheer.ca had the typical website, flash graphics that search engines can’t read, limited content space, hard programmed borders and little to no room for expansion or change. In fact, if Tony Bhullar, CEO wanted to add content, programs, new information and product knowledge, he was out of luck! Today www.lasersheer.ca has easily modified pages, posts, public pages, private pages, membership entry points, categories for each ad campaign and more without any HTML training or experience!

“Our website professional, Patricia Ogilvie with www.salesletter.ca sat with our technician Courtney for about an hour after the site was live. Now Courtney can add blogs, articles, send tweets and access Facebook in seconds,” says Tony Bhullar, CEO of LaserSheer of Edmonton. “Wordpress based websites give us the means to communicate with our customers without having to pay a technician or programmer to make changes! WordPress Thesis theme is available for us to work our own magic into the website. http://diythemes.com It even lets us change our website, edit a post, change a page, add a graphic, plug in an opt in form and we can do it in minutes!

Here’s the other reason we made the change to wordpress. Recent changes to Google indicate that how searches are done could bring a highly flash, graphic website down. We didn’t want to take that chance. If the desired Google standards are not adhered to, one could find themselves no longer appearing in the search engines. Google was leaning more and more towards what was going on in the blogging world. Changes slowly took place for search rank. Here’s what else we learned. People who put their website into a WordPress environment were always, sometimes instantly, taken to the top of search listings! Yet our old site took hours and hours to optimize and months to show up!

So come see for yourself. You could visit our pages, learn about skin care and acne treatments and subscribe to our newsletter. Visit www.lasersheer.ca

Thermage – Health Canada Approved!

Thermage Skin Tightening for the Face

The Thermage ThermaCool is a radio frequency system that was introduced in 2002 to help tighten the skin. With more than 150,000 procedures performed so far and extensive coverage by a variety of national news programs as well as the Oprah Winfrey Show, ThermaCool has been shown to help firm skin that has lost elasticity over time. Areas that respond especially well include the brow, jawline and eye area.
In 2007, Health Canada approved the device for treatment of wrinkles on the upper and lower eyelids. This makes Thermage the only FDA-approved device able to tighten the delicate skin around the eyes; it also makes ThermaCool an easy, non-invasive alternative to plastic surgery.
During treatment with Thermage, radio frequency energy is delivered quickly to the targeted area. This energy heats the collagen deep within the skin, causing a twofold reaction. First, existing collagen contracts and remodels for a tightening effect; second, new collagen is produced, providing further support and firmness to the skin. This process continues for several months after treatment, so that results continue to improve during this time.
Through September 30, 2010 save $500 on Thermage!

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion: the Solution for Mild Skin Damage

Laser treatments, deep chemical peels and other intensive procedures are an excellent way to correct significant skin damage. For those with more mild skin damage, however, microdermabrasion offers a simple, inexpensive way to soften fine facial lines, even skin tone and texture, and restore smoothness.

Microdermabrasion exfoliates the upper layers of the skin with microscopic aluminum oxide crystals. This removes surface irregularities, smoothing the complexion. It also helps stimulate collagen regeneration, which over time, improves the appearance of wrinkles and provides a tightening effect.

The level of exfoliation is customized to each patient’s needs, with a deeper treatment leading to more dramatic results. One treatment will brighten the skin and restore a youthful glow; a series of three to six microdermabrasion treatments can help reverse mild to moderate skin damage, countering the effects of excess sun exposure and aging.

Microdermabrasion can help keep skin of any age looking fresh and youthful.

Acne Problems?? No more with treatments from Acne Clinics of Edmonton

Acne not in fashion this year? Let us help! More than 2 million men and women across Canada suffer from acne; for about a third, acne is severe and leads to embarrassing outbreaks, rashes and scars. Although many products are available to help control acne, few have been clinically shown to effectively reduce acne and prevent it from returning.

Laser Sheer offers several treatments that can significantly reduce acne. Depending on the severity of the acne and the skin’s condition, we can recommend the therapy best for you.

Chemical peels, microdermabrasion and laser skin resurfacing remove the upper layers of skin to improve cystic acne, reduce blackheads and soften acne scars.

For more significant scarring and pitting, a filler like hyaluronic acid may be injected into the depression of the scar to lift it flush to the surrounding skin. Injected medical steroids may also help soften deep scars.

Pigmentation changes caused by acne may be treated with light devices. These systems target red and brown scars to even skin tone.
